SUMMARY: Provide administrative support to Director, Museum Sales & Distribution, and Trade Sales Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support sales to independent and museum stores nationwide
  • Support domestic and Canadian commission reps (40 in total)
  • Help manage sales, marketing, and publicity of distribution clients’ lists; input title information into database; prepare and maintain seasonal grids
  • Coordinate preparation and organization of sales materials for sales reps, including management of freelancers
  • Create seasonal order forms
  • Coordinate biannual sales conferences
  • Process coop claims
  • Process school orders, gratis orders for distribution clients, etc
  • Track event orders
  • Assist Vice President, Sales, and Director, Trade Sales, as needed
  • Provide reception break coverage as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  Previous publishing or bookstore experience a plus
  • Excellent English oral and written skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; good Excel skills required
  • Must be organized, detail oriented with ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent prioritizing skills and judgment
  • Strong interest in working in a fast-paced sales environment
