Gift Rep Sales Manager, Special Sales

Summary: Oversee and direct special market sales through commissioned groups  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Supervise the efforts of the US special markets commissioned groups

-Set annual $ goals for each sales group and benchmark against peers

-Monitor individual and group performance by reviewing daily and monthly sales reports and by periodically traveling with reps

-Communicate sales opportunities to reps on a regular basis by developing tools for timely and efficient communication

-Identify bestselling titles for each account type and encourage best practice usage and feedback

-Coordinate and present new titles to commission groups semiannually, in addition structure meetings to be more interactive and encourage a best practice model that utilizes the best performers in each group to share success stories

-Participate in business meetings with key customers

-Create and prepare sales analysis on a regular basis identifying trends, including competition

-Oversee and coordinate Abrams participation at regional gift shows and summarize order results

-Create materials to promote trade show season for the commission groups

-Participate in the planning of the NY Now gift show and summarize order results

-Provide material and hands on training for new reps  

-Participate in bi-weekly Sales meeting


-Bachelor’s degree

-5+ years of sales experience within the publishing industry, preferably in Special Sales 

-Excellent communication skills and ease of presenting sales information and titles to large groups 

-Ability to motivate sales groups and be a creative thinker to support sales efforts 

-Must be organized and analytical with an attention to detail

-Excel proficiency – both data entry and spreadsheet formulation 

-Proficient in PowerPoint and Word  

-Travel required
