Store Receiver – PLG location

Overview: The Store Receiver works in the Receiving Department and is responsible for the flow of merchandise coming into and out of the store. The Store Receiver is responsible for communicating with sales floor about shelving and inventory issues, and is responsible for maintaining records and paperwork, contacting vendors as needed, and following up on or coordinating with counterparts on special-case sales including special orders and web orders. This person will be responsible for receiving merchandise into the appropriate department and will coordinate with each department’s managers to best manage inventory. The Store Receiver will work closely with the Receiving Manager on maintaining paperwork and accurate records (packing lists, invoices, and claims). Store Receiver will also help coordinate the store’s annual physical inventory process. Store Receiver will work in concert with the Receiver and managers of all Greenlight departments and locations.
The receiver at the PLG location will receive and return books for both the PLG bookstore and the Offsites department. The receiver will also assist the Special Sales and School Partnerships managers with bookfair and conference staging and packing. The receiver will also share delivery and inter-store car run duties with the receiver at the Fort Greene location.

- Valid driver license

Prerequisites: Some bookstore or receiving experience
Direct Supervisor: Receiving Manager
Schedule: average 5 days / 40 hours per week, with some schedule flexibility
Compensation: This is a salaried position; compensation commensurate with experience.
