Production Coordinator

Position: Full-Time

David Zwirner seeks a full-time Production Coordinator to join the David Zwirner Books team. This position reports into the Managing Director of David Zwirner Books and provides vital administrative and production support to the Production Manager. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail. This position involves significant contact with printers, designers, artists, and colleagues headquartered internationally, therefore strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Update and maintain production schedules on project management software, Asana, for all David Zwirner Books titles.

  • Primary David Zwirner Books point of contact for Photography department.

  • Responsible for assessing image quality before image release.

  • Prepare files and checklists for release to printer.

  • Assist Production Manager with on-site GMG certified Epson proof checking for four-color offset print, markup proofs to clearly communicate color correction in New York.

  • Provide on-site support while Production Manager is on press.

  • Oversee production for selected book titles, i.e. Hong Kong series, ekphrasis series, David Zwirner Books catalogue, etc.

  • Oversee and manage multi-global shipments for David Zwirner Books, including sourcing shipping quotes, creation of shipping documents, packing instructions, and tracking to final delivery.


Requirements:

  • BA (Art History, Studio Art, or related field preferred)

  • 1-3 years production experience, fine arts-related publications preferred

  • Proficiency using InDesign

  • Thorough understanding of the production process and some experience in color management


Position hours are Monday-Friday, 10am to 6pm. Candidate will occasionally need to work additional hours and travel. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins please.
