Assistant Director of Marketing, Tor Teen and Starscape

Position: Full-Time

Position Description: 
Oversee overall marketing, digital, and school and library strategies for Tor Teen and Starscape.

Major Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and lead overall marketing, digital, and educational strategy for Tor Teen and Starscape 
• Execute marketing for key imprint titles
• Direct all imprint and branding marketing initiatives
• Assess success of marketing campaigns
• Key contact with Mac Digital for Tor Teen and Starscape
• Develop and implements per title Ed/Lib advertising campaigns
• Work with Publisher to pitch panels for all major conferences 
• Responsible for conference planning and execution
• Liaison with Macmillan corporate Ed/Lib department
• Responsible for regional and national award nominations and submissions
• Present ideas at internal and external meetings, including meetings with authors and agents
• Lead brainstorming sessions and department meetings
• Offer ideas on department’s best practices
• Develop strategies for marketing closely with online, publicity, and ad/promo team 
• Ensure editors and publisher are informed of marketing initiatives 
• Oversee budget for Teen/Starscape and Education/Library

Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Supervisory skills- required to supervisor one manager
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, strategic thinker, strong management skills, extremely organized, must work well with multiple personality types, confident and comfortable presenter

Experience Needed:
• 6-8 years marketing experience in children’s publishing, specifically in marketing and school and library if possible

Educational Background Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
