Publicity and Social Media Coordinator

Position: Full-Time

Forward-thinking and fast-growing, Diversion Books is looking for a key new team member to lead and coordinate major campaigns for bestselling and emerging authors in general non-fiction and select fiction. This is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact on traditional publicity and coordinate these efforts with targeted social media. The Publicity and Social Media Coordinator will work with a highly collaborative publishing team, including editors and publicists, to brainstorm, plan, launch, and promote titles. The ideal Publicity and Social Media Coordinator will be eager to work with an independent house, interact directly with the CEO, and have a vision for how the roles in marketing and publicity work hand in hand in the changing landscape of selling books.

Below are the following responsibilities:

* In conjunction with our team, develop publicity and social media campaigns for a large list of of up to 40 titles per year
* Work closely with brand/celebrity authors, as well as new authors and their representatives
* Work with print and online media to coordinate publicity for books. Candidate should have a list of media contacts to combine with the existing Diversion network.
* Integrate e-mail marketing efforts with traditional publicity strategy
* Coordinate book signing and other promotional events for author tours

Qualifications: College degree with a minimum 3 years experience of book publicity and social media. Candidates must have strong organization, writing, and presentation skills, as well as an intuitive sense for positioning a book or book topic to appeal to its intended audience. Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, as well as general computer skills are expected. Experience with basic design software a plus. Please note that this is not an entry level position.
