Associate Marketing Manager

Position: Full-Time

Phaidon is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager with 2-3 years of experience in book marketing and an interest in the creative arts. This position will report to the Executive Marketing Manager and have the following responsibilities:

- Plan and execute frontlist and backlist title marketing campaigns, utilizing research and analytics to inform strategic partnerships, trade and retail promotions, influencer outreach, and digital initiatives
- Manage budgets, schedules, and priorities of these initiatives, and communicate internally and with partners about their success
- Interface with Phaidon authors and publishing partners, including advising on book promotion through owned communications channels
- Coordinate the design and production of printed and digital marketing collateral
- Support marketing and publicity teams in planning, promoting, and executing a year-round calendar of events
- Expand marketing program and partner database in key verticals, including architecture, art, cookery, children’s, design, fashion, and photography
- Work with sales team to expand trade marketing program, deepening relationships with Phaidon retail partners and communicating marketing and publicity activity that might support sales efforts in various channels
- Organize trade marketing materials, including weekly newsletter, sell sheets, and other printed and digital collateral

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Proven ability to work proactively and problem-solve independently
- Strong organizational sense and a keen eye for detail - Excellent verbal and written communication
- Confidence interfacing with colleagues across departments, as well as external partners and clients
- Experience with event-planning, and willingness to support events on evenings and weekends - Interest in illustrated book publishing

Professional and Educational Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communication, or business
- 3 years of experience in marketing of enthusiast or consumer-based products; book publishing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media channels required; familiarity with Adobe InDesign and email marketing clients preferred

This is a full-time position in our New York office. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
