Bookstore Office Assistant Job Description
The Office Assistant will work to support the Buying, Receiving/Ecommerce, and Bookkeeping departments of Greenlight Bookstore with administrative tasks. This will include but is not limited to: title data entry; placing and managing a high volume of purchase orders for multiple locations; matching invoices with statements and other bookkeeping tasks; processing and completing ecommerce orders; and assistance with supply inventory management. This position involves communicating and coordinating with coworkers in several departments, as well as customers and vendors; processing data and meeting deadlines; organizing and communicating complex information; and working within the bookstore’s existing and evolving infrastructure.
Summary of responsibilities:
· order books for events, offsites and other categories
· match invoices and perform other bookkeeping tasks
· process and complete web orders
· manage/order store supplies
Schedule/Prerequisites: This is an administrative job in the bookstore office. This can be a part time (approx. 24 hr/week) or a full time (40 hr/week) position with responsibilities varying depending on the candidate's availability, and will include one weekend day. Experience in the book industry and familiarity with publishers and bookstore systems is beneficial. Ability to effectively organize and communicate information is crucial.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
