Applewood Books was founded in 1976. Since then, we have published thousands of works and sold millions of copies. In 2010 we began acquiring other publishers, further expanding our list and scope.

We are looking for a high-performing Sales Manager who will develop and meet,  or exceed, revenue growth targets, build our brand, expand our marketplaces, and promote our mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and update a 5-year strategic sales plan, including revenue and expense projections, to meet our aggressive growth goals
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with our customers and understanding their needs
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully recruiting, setting objectives, coaching and mentoring a sales team.
  • Generate and present sales and expense results and variances to the leadership team
  • Plan and attend marketplace trade shows
  • Establish best practices and expand use of Salesforce
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new competing and aspirational products


Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • A record of lifelong learning, including a commitment to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively
  • Strong business sense and marketplace expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office
