Quail Ridge Books is an equal opportunity employer seeking a General Manager to work with the owner to lead all aspects of an award-winning, 9000 square foot independent bookstore.

The ideal candidate will have experience and demonstrated success in bookstore management along with proven leadership ability and strong team-building, communication and organizational skills. He or she will be innovative and action oriented, and able to understand and utilize financial information in making and implementing necessary decisions.

The General Manager will lead the management team and oversee all store operations:

-Work with the owner to set strategy on all aspects of finances, staffing, store design and displays, merchandising, inventory, facilities, and service.

-Develop a team of leaders who will take QRB to greater levels in service, events, sales, store design, displays and community engagement.

-Supervise and collaborate with Floor Manager, Children's Dept. Manager, Inventory Manager, Institutional Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, Bookkeeper and Assistant General Manager to achieve store goals.

-Oversee store operations, make decisions and enter contracts for phone, internet, utilities, charge card processors, banking, copier lease, security system, cleaning services, and business, liability and Workers' Comp. insurance.

The position reports to the owner, Lisa Poole.

Benefits include health insurance (60/40), life insurance, vacation, sick days. Salary will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
