Long-established and award-winning children’s book publishers, Holiday House Publishing and Peachtree Publishing Inc., are recruiting for an Accountant to work in our centralized finance and accounting team.
Reporting to our Controller, the position is responsible for accounting functions including maintaining general ledger, cash reporting, preparing royalties, supporting monthly close (journal entries, account reconciliation, analysis), calculating reserves, provisions, accruals and allocations across our publishing businesses.
The role may help in budget and budget analysis as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, several years of publishing work experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team. Expertise in advanced Excel including vlookups and pivot tables is required as well as familiarity with small business accounting software like Sage or Quickbooks.
This position is currently remote but, in the future, may be partly remote with a flexible work schedule out of our New York City office.
