Associate Manager, Sales

Position: Full-Time

The Associate Manager, Special Sales will be responsible for supporting the Special Sales channel including National Retail, Premium, Mail Order, Specialty Wholesale, and the Gift Reps. This position will be responsible for assisting the Director with building up the business and while also managing their own accounts in Specialty Wholesale, Premium and Mail Order.

Essential Functions

  • Support the day-to-day selling activities of commission rep groups in the United States selling to gift accounts and select specialty retailers
  • Manage and grow business across accounts in Premium, Wholesale and Mail Order by selling front list titles on a seasonal basis and actively soliciting reorders
  • Create and maintain item set-up forms and title spreadsheets, and manage vendor portals
  • Maintain weekly sales tracking grids, run regular sales reports, provide sales analysis, and communicate account activities to management
  • Provide insight and feedback on customer preferences, retail trends, and merchandising needs
  • Track and prepare all sales materials for reps and department
  • Work with Director to develop and implement category and regional strategies and sales plans for key specialty accounts
  • Create the gift catalog for the Fall and Spring seasons
  • Attend and sell at tradeshows and account meetings
  • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing quoted inventory, providing support and materials needed for the department, completing customer spec sheets, coordinating seasonal Gift Shows and sending samples


Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years prior publishing sales experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and is a self-starter
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel for gift shows
