Production Associate/Reprint Coordinator

Position: Full-Time

Grove Atlantic, an award-winning independent publishing house committed to publishing quality works of adult fiction and nonfiction, is seeking a Production Associate/Reprint Coordinator. This job will focus on managing our reprints and POD (Print on Demand) program. This includes working closely with all vendors to meet schedule, quality and budget requirements; analyzing production specifications in order to propose cost-saving measures; attending and participating in regular production meetings, and generally assisting the Production Director in all ways. This person will also produce and manage all galleys and ARCs. Candidates need to be capable of working in a deadline-driven and team-oriented environment, especially in this current and very stressful environment in the publishing/printing/shipping business.
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Managing a large backlist reprint program with web-offset and digital vendors
  • Managing production, shipping, and distribution of galleys, working closely with all departments to ensure quality galleys. 
  • Managing, and maintaining print-on-demand program.
  • Assisting Production Director in the day-to-day mechanics of production.

Qualifications: 

  • 1-3 years experience in Book production or equivalent experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, flexible, and able to prioritize
  • Thorough, accurate, and articulate verbal and written communication skills
  • Not intimidated by technological advances and new systems. Can utilize technology where appropriate to improve workflow. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, basic math, calculating, analyzing and organizing data 
  • Comfortable in both PC and Mac platforms. Adobe Creative Suite skills a plus
  • Maintains grace under pressure in a high-energy, fast-paced environment 

The ideal candidate will be passionate and engaged, unflappable and with excellent organizational skills. Ideally, the role will be one in which the right person will grow and expand their skillset

This position will begin remotely, transitioning to working a hybrid in-office schedule, and ultimately full-time in-office.
