Third Place Books

Third Place Books is seeking an Evening Assistant Manager for its Lake Forest Park store in Seattle, WA. 

Duties

• Assist in all aspects of store daily operations including, point-of-sale transactions and cash procedures, closing the store, merchandising and maintaining inventory, and marketing and promotion. 
• Deliver outstanding customer service and manage customer issues and concerns appropriately, decisively, and with respect. 
• Proactively troubleshoot and problem solve to address store needs. 
• Collaborate with event and store staff in facilitating large and complex events.
• Maintain a positive, productive and fun working environment for all staff. 
• Execute and oversee staff training (new hire and ongoing). 
• Maintain awareness of staff needs by providing daily support, direction, and guidance to staff.  -Supervise and evaluate employee performance. 
• Comply with and ensure employees comply with Third Place Books policies and procedures. 

Skills and Qualifications 

• Previous bookstore or book industry experience 
• Creative problem-solver with careful attention to detail 
• Strong communication and listening skills 
• IT literacy (MS Office, Google Drive, etc) and ability to learn new programs quickly
• Experience with iMerchant a plus 
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks 
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and lead a team

Details

• 40 hours per week, Tuesday-Saturday 1PM-9PM
• $45,000-$48,000

Third Place Books is an independent bookstore, established in 1998 with three locations in the greater Seattle area selling new and used books and gift items. Our Lake Forest Park location is located just a few miles north of Seattle city limits near the shores of Lake Washington. It is 15,000 sq ft, open 7 days a week, and has approximately 25 employees.
