NYC's The Rabbit Books & Bar Postpones Grand Opening Due to 'Unexpected Water Feature'

The Rabbit Books and Bar, which was scheduled to have its grand opening last weekend in New York City's East Village, postponed the festivities after a cascade of water came through the ceiling during downpours the weekend of the 18th. The bookstore is located at 170 Avenue A on 11th St. Repairs will likely take several weeks to complete.

"With last weekend's rain came an unexpected water feature in our ceiling," co-owners Marianna Vaidman Stone and her daughter, Emily Samara Stone, posted on Instagram. "Sadly we have to do some repairs, so our grand opening is postponed. We're so grateful for all of the support and excitement."

The Rabbit Books and Bar will highlight international literature and titles from around the world. The bar side of the business will function as a cafe during the day, selling coffee, tea, and matcha, before serving beer, wine, and other alcoholic drinks in the evenings. Food offerings will include pastries, sandwiches, charcuterie boards, and desserts.
