Today, August 19, Barnes & Noble will host the official opening of its new bookstore at 150 N. State St. in downtown Chicago, Ill. Located at "the heart of The Loop," the store occupies the historic building that was once a flagship Borders Bookstore. It is the fourth new bookstore to be opened by B&N in the Chicagoland area this year, joining others in Skokie, Hyde Park, and Oak Park.
The 20,000-square-foot bookstore's opening celebration will feature author Jasmine Warga cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her book The Unlikely Tale of Chase and Finnegan (Balzer + Bray).
"We are delighted to restore this wonderful building as a home to a major bookstore," B&N said. "Returning to the Loop reinforces a significant commitment to Chicago where we have now opened four new bookstores in the last year."
