Alex Blum (l.) and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter John Gatins appeared at Zibby's Bookshop in Santa Monica, Calif., for a standing-room-only audience to discuss Blum's memoir, An Accident of Birth (UnCollected Press, May 2026), his story of discovering in his 60s that he's the oldest of four full brothers, born of a hidden affair and given up for adoption.
