The Canada Council for the Arts has announced finalists in 14 English- and French-language categories for this year's Governor General's Literary Awards. Category winners, who will be named November 1, are awarded C$25,000 (about $20,035). The publisher of each winning book receives $3,000 to support promotional activities.
