Net sales of books rose 6.2% to $999.5 million in September and
year-to-date sales were down 1.8% to $7.002 billion, according to the
Association of American Publishers. The figures represent sales
reported by 78 publishers.

- Adult hardcover, down 1.4%, to $192.5 million
