Independent bookstores
like lifelong friends
are there for you
in the hardest of times
in the harsh desert of
"what should I read?"
there is always a bookstore friend
to lend a helping hand
to point you to the perfect book
the one meant for you
the one destined to nestle between your hands
while you spend the night
and wee hours of the morning
feverishly flipping pages
until the last parting word.
