Author Allie Pleiter visited The Poisoned Pen Bookstore, Scottsdale, Ariz., for an event called "Knits and Kits with One Sharp Stitch"--the first title in her Nimble Needle mystery series. The event was also a fundraiser for Scottsdale's Newborn Kitten Rescue, and the author made a donation for every book sold. Local needlepoint shop BeStitched created an exclusive canvas available at the event, and readers were invited to bring their needlework to the event, and stitch while they listened to Pleiter's talk.
