Left Field Publishing, launched last year by industry veterans Kristen Gilligan and Len Vlahos, held its first Left Field Literary Salon: Where Books Meet After Dark. The monthly series brings together readers, writers, thinkers, and curious minds. Held at the historic Denver Press Club, the inaugural literary salon offered "a dark academia atmosphere," with a celebrity author trivia contest led by Vlahos, book swaps, signature drinks, tarot readings, a literary trivia game with authors, Scrabble, and more. Portions of the proceeds went to support the Denver Press Club and civil liberties work through the Colorado ACLU.
Left Field has also launched a Kickstarter campaign to help bring its fall list of four titles "into the world with the launch support, production quality, accessibility initiatives, and reader engagement they deserve."
