Following its debut as a pop-up shop selling magnetic bookmarks, Carpe Librum has opened a bricks-and-mortar bookstore in Hammonds, La., the Daily Star reported.
Located at 119 S. Cypress, Carpe Librum opened in April and sells new and used titles for all ages, along with stationery, bookish goods, and items designed by co-owner and founder Elizabeth Fontenot. Robert Fontenot serves as general manager, and the store's events program includes craft nights, book club meetings, workshops, and more.
The weekend before last, the bookstore hosted an event with the Creative Minds Writers Group. It included a writing exercise for attendees and featured appearances from several local authors.
