The longlist has been selected for the $75,000 Cundill History Prize, administered by McGill University, and can be seen here. A shortlist will be released on September 2 and the finalists September 30. The winner will be named on October 23.
Organizers said that the titles on the longlist "introduce us to topics from across the globe, spanning continents and generations, from the history of the five partitions that shaped modern South Asia to the legacy of the Magdalene laundries in Ireland, from post-Second World War colonial Africa to the hidden story of Indigenous slavery in U.S. history."
