Tuttle Publishing

Tuttle Publishing is seeking a full-time book editor. Tuttle publishes about 125 titles each year with a strong focus on Asian-related themes and subjects, from language learning, philosophy, art and literature to children’s books, history, cooking, crafts, martial arts and travel. This is a full-time in-house position in our North Clarendon, VT office. Our work week is Monday through Friday (Monday, Wednesday and Friday are in-office days; Tuesday and Thursday are remote days).

Responsibilities:

· Edit and supervise book projects, from signing of contracts to bound books

· Manage freelancers to maintain the editorial schedule

· Collaborate with the sales and marketing personnel

· Present titles at internal editorial and sales meetings

· Propose and acquire new titles

Requirements:

· Two to three years of book editing experience

· Strong project management, communication and organizational skills

· Proficiency with copy editing and proofreading

· Knowledge of Japanese language and culture, a plus

· Ability to multitask

· Experience working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
