Bookmarks in Winston-Salem, N.C., hosted its first Well-Read Black Girl Book Club gathering, joined by authors Ibi Zoboi, Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite, who were in town for Bookmarks' annual Festival of Books & Authors. The three shared their new books, told stories about Haitian sayings and Haitian grandmas, spoke about the cultural importance of storytelling, answered questions and signed books. Bookmarks engagement coordinator Jessica Blackstock facilitated the event with the help of volunteer Ada White, and will continue to oversee Bookmarks' chapter of Well-Read Black Girl, which will meet again on October 21 to discuss
