The project: "We've been busy crafting Lorax-inspired truffula trees from our recycling--we have grand plans to hang (plant?) them in our big front windows," Newtonville Books in Newton Centre, Mass., posted last Friday. "If you stop by this weekend, we might enlist you to help with the finishing touches: painting the bands on the tree trunks, sculpting the tufts, engineering them to hang in the windows, etc. You never know what kind of project you may stumble upon at the bookstore."
And the results: "Thank you to all who helped craft our window truffula trees. It was a labor of love, and we are thrilled to have them up in our windows. Sit down and read The Lorax and remember our duty to speak for the trees."
