Congratulations to Sarah Rhu of Scuppernong Books, Greensboro, N.C., who has won Shelf Awareness's scholarship to Winter Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., in February 2027. The scholarship covers registration fee, program meals, up to five nights room and tax, and up to $600 in eligible travel expenses. Applicants' stores needed to be ABA members and participate in Shelf Awareness partner mailings. More than 40 well-qualified booksellers applied.
Shelf Awareness's selection committee was most impressed by the breadth of Sarah's application: her interest in specific programming as a way to improve her store management, her eagerness to interact with fellow independent booksellers, and her desire to explore the publishing and bookselling scene in Minneapolis in person.
