Shanta Newlin, senior v-p, executive director of publicity and corporate communications, at Penguin Young Readers is stepping down from that role at the end of the year and launching her own literary PR firm.
She joined Random House as senior publicist, Random House Children;s Books, in 2003. She then moved to Penguin Adult in 2007 as associate director of marketing and publicity, before joining Penguin Young Readers as director of publicity in 2008.
