Position: Part-Time

Celia Bookshop is looking for passionate, organized, responsible book lovers to fill several part-time bookseller positions at our new store, opening in September in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Positions will begin in advance of opening, probably in August.

Here are some basic bookselling skills that we'll want everyone to have:

Knowledge and love of lots of different genres of books
Friendly and easy to talk to
Proactive (always looking for jobs to do around the store)
Not intimidated by technology
Able to lift heavy boxes of books
Willing to get down on the floor or up on a ladder to shelf books
Flexibility, including in scheduling
A team player, kind

If you have any of the following extra skills, please let us know:

In-depth knowledge of children' s books
Graphic design skills
Social media / SEO / data analytics skills
Website maintenance and other computer skills
Event planning and execution skills

About Celia Bookshop:

Celia Bookshop is a new, women-owned, independent bookstore opening in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, in September. Located in a former cobbler’s shop, the store’s handpicked collection of books will include new titles, classics, best sellers, beautifully made small-press volumes, memoirs, nature writing, and an expansive children’s section. We’ll host an eclectic mix of literary events, informal conversations, and book-centered social gatherings where people who love books can find new stories, explore ideas, and connect with each other.
