Marketing Assistant, Basic Books Group

Position: Full-Time, Hybrid
SUMMARY:
The Marketing Assistant will report to the Executive Director of Marketing and will provide a wide range of administrative and marketing support on behalf of the Group’s six imprints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate sales conference materials and answer general queries for the sales department
- Organize mailings to bookstores and influencers
- Assist marketing team with campaigns
- Manage the Seal Press Ambassadors influencer program
- Daily management of imprint social media channels
- Communicate with senior staff, media, booksellers, as well as authors and literary agents
- Coordinate the Basic Books annual catalog
- Own the department’s project management tasks using Basecamp for catalog and fact sheet production
- Admin duties include: route copy, code invoices, coordinate mailings, schedule meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes, and create and distribute weekly reports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Interest in book publishing is essential, along with a strong interest in marketing.
- College degree preferred
- Solid computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Excel
- Proficient with social media, content creation, and Canva preferred
- Familiarity with project management software preferred
- Strong communication skills are essential (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

The compensation for this position is $50,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
