Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Remote, Regional)
Position: Full-Time, Remote
To Start: October 1, 2026 (Will attend FallCon 2026 Trade Show & Conference, Denver, Colorado)

Starting Salary range: $45,000 - $50,000 (commensurate with experience)
Benefits: $350 monthly QSEHRA healthcare reimbursement, monthly in-home office reimbursement, and unlimited PTO.
The primary responsibility of the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is to assist the Executive Director in driving the visibility, engagement, and membership growth of our non-profit trade association by creating association communications (print, email, website, social media, etc.), managing association marketing and advertising, and designing association marketing materials.
Specific job duties include but are not limited to:

Marketing MPIBA events and programs to membership.

Update and maintain MPIBA and Reading the West website content.

Design and produce printed and digital marketing materials.

Manage MPIBA and Reading the West social media accounts.

Create and schedule email communications.

Manage Paid Advertising

Create and schedule partner advertising.

Coordinate MPIBA Membership Marketing Programs.

Track email metrics, and maintain email subscriber lists.

Coordinate event onsite photography.
Schedule & Travel Requirements:

Meet regularly with the Executive Director and other staff for planning and organizational conversations.

Attend board meetings when appropriate.

Travel to attend FallCon and SpringCon, and other industry events as needed.
Desired Experience & Skills:
-
Strong understanding of online, email, and social media marketing and best practices.

Experience with Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube social media platforms.

Experience with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.)

Experience in developing and executing innovative and successful marketing initiatives.

Basic graphic design skills and experience with Canva, or other design software.

Familiarity with Wordpress, and other web based applications.

Understanding of Google Drive.
Qualifications:

Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadline pressure.

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and self-motivation.

A flexible team player able to take on shifting responsibilities as needs arise.

Experience in bookselling or publishing is extremely desirable. Non-profit and/or trade association experience valued.

Desire to support and engage with bookstores and booksellers, and industry partners.

Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

Strong writing and editorial skills.

Must live in the MPIBA region (see states below). Texas residents preferred, but not required.
